VST and Company, also known as VST & Co., was a popular Filipino disco funk band in the 1970s and 1980s. The group was formed in Manila in 1977 and quickly rose to fame with their signature sound, which blended funk, disco, and traditional Filipino music elements.
The band's name is an acronym for the founding members' surnames: Vicente "Tito" Sotto III, Val Sotto, Spanky Rigor, and Celso Llarina. Other members of the band included Male Rigor, Roger Rigor, Monet Gaskell, and Jun Medina.
In 1978, VST and Company released their debut album, "Disco Fever," which included the hit singles "Awitin Mo at Isasayaw Ko" and "Rock Baby Rock." The album became a massive success, selling over 150,000 copies in the Philippines and establishing the band as one of the most popular musical acts of the era.
Over the years, VST and Company released several more albums, including "Step No, Step Yes," "Swing It, Baby," and "The Best of VST and Company." Their music continued to dominate the airwaves in the Philippines, and the band became a staple of the local music scene.
Despite their success, VST and Company disbanded in 1986, with some members pursuing solo careers or other musical projects. However, their music has remained popular among Filipino audiences, and their hits continue to be played on the radio and in clubs to this day.
