Asin is composed of Mike Pillora Jr. (guitar and vocals), Lolita Carbon (vocals and percussion), Cesar Bañares Jr. (guitar and vocals), Pendong Aban Jr. (bass), and Saro Bañares (drums). The group's name is derived from the Filipino word for "salt," which symbolizes their desire to bring a flavorful and essential element to their music.


Asin's music often explores themes of love, social justice, and environmental conservation, and has been described as a powerful expression of the Filipino spirit. Their most popular songs include "Masdan Mo Ang Kapaligiran," "Himig ng Pag-ibig," and "Pagbabalik."
