Maria Angela Rafaela Manzano del Rosario, also known as Ella del Rosario, is a Spanish-Filipina American singer who gained fame as the lead vocalist of the popular Filipino band Hotdog from 1974 to 1977. Discovered by the Garcia brothers, Rene and Dennis, she became a key member of the band during their most successful period.
After leaving Hotdog in 1977, del Rosario pursued a solo career, establishing herself as one of the most prominent OPM (Original Pilipino Music) pop singers of the time. In 1979, she released the iconic hit song "Mr. Disco," which further solidified her popularity and became a memorable part of the Philippine music landscape.
While del Rosario eventually quit singing in 1984, she has continued to make occasional performances, delighting fans with renditions of her well-known hits throughout the years. Her contributions to OPM and her tenure as the lead singer of Hotdog have left an enduring mark on the Filipino music scene, and she remains a celebrated figure in the industry.
